Austin, Texas. Come one, come all. Take the day off of work and meet us at Dog N Duck Pub for a day of skateboarding on International Go Skateboarding Day. The whole purpose of this day is to get together, skate and get noticed throughout the community and promote skateboarding as an all ages, fun and respectable thing to do. The International Association of Skateboarding Companies (IASC) started this great idea only a few years ago. The city with the best coverage and attendance gets to be put on all sorts of media. Tampa got it last year and now its our turn. We had about 50 people last minute on Go Skate Day last year. This year it’s been much more thought out and most skate shops in town are participating.
Thursday, June 21
12:30pm Meet at Dog N Duck
3:30pm Austin High Ditch. Lunch
8:30pm Wahoo’s Fish Tacos. Dinner. Element Video
Skate route maps will be distributed at Dog N Duck Pub. Lunch and drinks (including water) provided by Red Bull Energy Drink. After-party and Element’s new video premier, “This is my Element” at Wahoos that same evening. Plan on getting picked up at Wahoos that night or skate back to Dog N Duck late night. The Skatepark of Austin van will be out in full force to take care of the injured, carry skate tools, and be the filming crew’s hub.
The whole day will be filmed, documented and submitted to IASC to with the prize of best Go Skateboarding Day.
